Wedding FAQ's
Below are some of the most commonly asked questions relating to wedding cakes.

What is the largest sized cake you offer? What is this isn't big enough for us?
The largest cake we offer is a three tier in the sizes of 10, 8 and 6 inch tiers which can usually feed up to 140 portions.
We are happy to quote for an additional 'kitchen cake', which can be kept in your venues kitchen and help to provide additional portions for your guests.

We'd like a big cake, but are only have an intimate wedding. What are our options?
We always suggest catering to 75% of your guests to avoid any potential wastage as not all guests will opt for a piece of cake, especially if you've just treated them to a 3-course meal!
We are happy to offer faux tiers to give you the look of a larger cake, without the actual cake. Please get in touch if you'd like to discuss this.

Do you offer tasting boxes?
We have four dates across the year where we reach out to all booked couples to book them in to receive samples of their choosing. These can either be posted directly to you, or you can collect from our home bakery if you're local.

Tasting boxes are sent out in January, April, July and October, and we will reach out to you 6 months ahead of your wedding date to book you in (e.g. if your wedding is in July, we will be booking you in to receive your tasting box in January).

If you book with less than 6 months until your wedding date, we will send out your tasters on the next available date. If this is not possible, we can at times offer individual tasting boxes where capacity allows.

Can we hire a cake stand from you?
Yes! We have several cake stands available to hire. If you'd like to hire one of our stands for your wedding, please let us know at the time of booking and we can send you photographs of the stands available along with prices. Please note cake stand hire is charged at £35 per stand, plus a refundable deposit. The refundable deposit varies dependent on the stand, and is returned once the stand is safely received by us following your wedding.

Does the time of year affect the overall cost of our cake?
During peak wedding months (May - September), Bank Holidays and Sundays, our prices differ due to popularity of dates.
As we only cater for one wedding per date, this means that we are unfortunately unable to hold any dates without having received a deposit.

Can we have fresh florals on our cake?
Yes! We would always recommend that if you would like fresh florals on your cake to discuss with your florist to see if they can provide these for you. This ensures that they match with the rest of your florals, rather than us sourcing anything on your behalf that may not match your styling*.

We do however ask that you share your florist details so that we may ensure any florals and foliage being provided is non-toxic and either edible or contact-safe for consumables. Unfortunately, if florals are considered to be toxic or harmful, we will under no circumstances use these on your cake. The main florals and foliage requested for cakes that we are not able to use due to toxicity are gypsophila (baby's breath), eucalyptus, holly and mistletoe.
*this does not apply if you have opted for a pressed floral cake.
